Competent Person Training

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires that a Competent Person, by way of training and/or experience, shall be knowledgeable in applicable standards, capable of identifying workplace hazards relating to the specific operation, and has the authority to correct them. Many employers don’t realize that a Competent Person is required on most job sites. CPSS Competent Person Training ensures that a student will receive all the proper training pursuant to OSHA’s requirement of Competent Persons for the applicable topic standard.  Many OSHA training classes provide basic or introductory information for workers.  Since the Competent Person is required to make important corrective actions, this training delivers a sufficient level of knowledge to aid in their decision-making process. These courses go beyond the basic awareness level of introductory training and into the specific details necessary to not only protect yourself, but to also create a safe working environment for those you may be responsible for.
